Creating new opportunities for growth with the Caregiver App from Becklar Personal Health & Safety

Learn more about the Caregiver app, how you can package it with Belle X devices, to expand your RMR.

PERS and mPERS dealers now have the opportunity to bundle Belle X, the most technologically advanced mPERS device on the market today, with the new Caregiver app. This bundle provides the most comprehensive care system for both authorized caregivers and users. The Caregiver app collects data on how the end user interacts with their Belle X device. With that data, caregivers can provide the most comprehensive care possible. The tandem of Belle X and the Caregiver app opens up new markets such as Veteran Assistance facilities (VAs) and senior care facilities as well as expanded RMR and new revenue opportunities for dealers.

Intuitive Features to Improve Insights

The Caregiver app works as a safety data center that monitors how the user interacts with their Belle X device. It tracks and detects button presses, falls, low battery, on-off status, and the first motion of the day. This provides data and insights for caregivers to better manage the health and wellbeing of their loved ones. It provides a differentiating capability for dealers to share with their subscribers.

Activity

Here’s how it works – through the Caregiver app, the caregiver can be notified when the user gets out of bed for the first time every day. That is recorded as the ‘first movement.’ This lets the caregiver know that the user is up and active. Caregivers can also set a time range when the first movement should take place. So, if the user has not moved within that range, the caregiver will be notified.

Activity goals can be set for the user. For example, Belle X accurately tracks users’ steps throughout the day. With the Caregiver app, the caregiver can set step goals for the user and monitor how active they are throughout the day. Activity insights can help a caregiver better understand the overall wellbeing of their loved one. If the user is not active, caregivers can investigate what may be hampering their activity.

Safety

The Caregiver app also helps ensure the Belle X device is turned on, charged and ready to provide emergency assistance for the user. Caregivers can receive notifications when the device’s battery is low and when the power has turned off. These notifications can help the caregiver be proactive in getting connected with their loved one to keep Belle X powered and ready for use.

The caregiver can also check on how often the user has pressed the ‘SOS button’ and view any detections of recorded falls in the app. Like the step tracker, this data can be helpful for the caregiver to determine if the user is well and potentially investigate any issues that the user may have with their personal wellbeing.

In the event that the user misplaces their device, the caregiver app can assist in locating the device. The caregiver can prompt the device to ring, allowing the user to listen and locate the device.

Location

Facilities like the VA, and other senior care facilities can greatly benefit from the Caregiver app. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), over 55 million people suffer with dementia. Of that, over half a million of those are veterans. The location services provided by the Caregiver app can be lifesaving when caring for veterans and senior citizens who suffer with dementia. Those with dementia are prone to getting confused or wandering off and getting lost. Caregivers can tap the ‘Update Location’ button in the app to see the most current location of the Belle X device in use. Caregivers can also tap the pin on the map for more information about the location. Providing this capability expands the market for dealers and provides the opportunity for increased RMR.
