How We Are Using AI to Strengthen Becklar’s Safety Platforms

Becklar’s Personal Health & Workforce Safety AI-assisted development tools provide higher reliability, faster response times, and greater confidence that the system will perform when needed most.

At Becklar, our mission is to deliver Personal Health, Safety, and Workforce Safety solutions that people can trust when it matters most. That trust is built not only through product features, but through the reliability and resilience of the systems behind them.

Over the past several years, our platforms have continued to grow while our software engineering team has intentionally remained small. We have not added a new development resource in more than four years. This approach has encouraged strong ownership and efficiency, but it has also meant that some important long-term improvements had to compete with immediate customer-driven priorities.

Historically, areas such as DevOps maturity, monitoring, and operational visibility were clear opportunities to strengthen the platform. We understood their value, especially for safety-critical systems, but fully addressing them required deep context and time that was difficult to justify alongside active feature development. As a result, this work often lived on the back burner.

That changed with our adoption of AI-assisted development tools, specifically Claude Code. Our goal was simple: to give our existing team more leverage. Claude Code enables engineers to understand complex parts of the platform faster, explore service behavior with greater confidence, and make improvements without the traditional overhead of manual discovery.

The impact was immediate. In just one week, we made meaningful progress on DevOps and monitoring initiatives that had been stalled for some time. Improved logging, stronger system visibility, and clearer operational insight moved from ideas to execution. These improvements directly enhance platform stability and allow us to detect and respond to issues more quickly.

For customers who rely on Becklar’s Personal Health and Workforce Safety solutions, this work matters. Better monitoring and stronger operational practices translate into higher reliability, faster response, and greater confidence that the system will perform when it is needed most. We view AI assisted tools as an amplifier of experienced engineers, not a replacement for them. By thoughtfully embracing this approach, we are ensuring that a small, focused team can continue to build resilient, forward-looking safety platforms without compromising quality or trust.
