WORKERSAFETY PRO APP
Stay healthy. Stay safe.
Be prepared — Test WorkerSafety Pro today
Testing the different ways WorkerSafety Pro can help you in an emergency is important to your understanding of the capabilities of the safety tool.
There are 4 safety features built into WorkerSafety Pro. Please take the time to familiarize yourself with each of the safety features.
Note
The WorkerSafety Pro safety features work in the foreground or the background. Once you start WorkerSafety Pro running, you may use your iPhone for other purposes and WorkerSafety Pro continues to protect you while running in the background.
Test 1 — Slide to Send Alert
This panic button feature allows you to quickly request help from your emergency contacts. After a 10 second countdown, your emergency contacts are notified of your request for help, your location is shown on a map, and you may receive a call back from your emergency contacts.
If you swipe the panic button by accident, you may cancel the request for help by tapping on the “I’m OK” button.
When a request for help goes through to your emergency contacts, you may let them know you’re OK by sending an All-Clear alert.
Note
The WorkerSafety Pro alert flow, starting with the Countdown screen, is the same for the various types of alerts.
1. The Countdown screen appears along with a countdown sound
2. The Help Requested screen appears along with a siren sound
3. The Send All-Clear? screen appears and there is no sound
Try it now
- try swiping on the “Slide to Send Alert” button on the home screen
- try the “I’m OK” button on the countdown screen
- try letting the countdown go through to the Help Requested screen
- try sending All-Clear alerts from the "Send All-Clear?" screen
Test 2 — Worker Down
Turning on Worker Down sets a timer that automatically resets as you move. If you don’t move for a settable period of time, then a 45 second countdown begins letting you know that your emergency contacts will be alerted.
Once the countdown begins, you may cancel the countdown by tapping on the “I’m OK” button.
When a Worker Down alert goes through to your emergency contacts, you may let them know you’re OK by sending an All-Clear alert.
Note
You can change the duration of the countdown for the different alarm types.
The countdown duration is changed from the Countdown Settings menu option.
Try it now
- try turning Worker Down on and off with the play/pause button on the home screen
- try tapping on the “Worker Down >” button on the home screen to see the Worker Down Settings screen
- read about the “Alert if my phone is flat” setting (safety vs. convenience)
Test 3 — Schedule Check-In
Scheduling a check-in ensures that you receive help, even if you don’t have an internet connection once the check-in is scheduled. It’s important to set the “Send Address” to where you will be and to include “Additional Instructions” as needed. This may include information such as specific areas you may be found like a crawlspace, attic, utility room, etc. Please also notice the option to silence the warning countdown in case you find yourself in a dangerous social situation.
Once you “Schedule” a check-in, you may notice the countdown on the home screen. You can cancel a check-in at any time and your emergency contacts will no longer be notified if you don’t check-in. In addition, you may extend a check-in time by tapping on “Refresh”.
Note
You must have an internet connection when you schedule a check-in. But, if you don’t check-in during the check-in window, your emergency contacts will be notified, even if you don’t have an internet connection.
Missed check-in alerts are automatically sent to your emergency contacts, using the cloud-based FallSafety Service, for your protection.
Try it now
- try tapping on “Schedule Check-In” on the home screen
- try tapping on “>” next to “Send Address” on the "Schedule Check-In Settings" screen
- try tapping on the “Schedule” button at the bottom of the “Schedule Check-In Settings” screen
- try tapping on “Check-In Required” on the the home screen
- try tapping on the “Refresh” button to extend your check-in on the "Check-In Scheduled" screen
- try tapping on the “Cancel” button to cancel your check-in on the "Check-In Scheduled" screen
Test 4 — Fall Detector
Turning Fall Detector on starts activity monitoring for falls. Fall monitoring can be set to monitor for big falls only, or for big and small falls. Please tap on the “Fall Detector” feature on the home screen to select the fall sensitivity. Like Worker Down, you may turn fall monitoring on and off at any time.
A big fall is from the 4th rung of a ladder or higher, or a fall from about 4 1/2 feet.
A small fall may be detected from a standing or sitting position. A small fall looks for up to 10 seconds of inactivity, after a fall, to see if you are able to move and get up. If there is movement that indicates the person may be OK, the fall alarm may be automatically dismissed.
Note
For a large fall to be detected, an arch toss onto a soft surface often works best for testing. To test the small fall setting, please try to have the phone land on a soft surface that is not level.
Putting your phone down on a table may appear to the safety system like a small fall. For this reason, when the phone is flat after a small fall, the fall alarm may be automatically dismissed.
Try it now
- try turning Fall Detector off and on with the play/pause button on the home screen
- find a soft surface (like a sofa or bed) to toss your phone on
- try tossing your phone onto a soft surface with WorkerSafety Pro on your screen
- try tossing your phone onto a soft surface without WorkerSafety Pro on your screen
